Abstract: Quantum computation is currently a promising candidate for the future of computation. Given the current rise of interest in quantum computation, there is a great deal of information available, but this information could be difficult to navigate for beginners.
This talk is composed of two parts. The first part is a basic introduction to the motivation and basic ideas of quantum computation. In the second part, I will touch upon some of my own research across different areas in quantum algorithms, from quantum algorithms in distributed systems, for machine learning and nonlinear problems.
